What machines are Joybarba capsules compatible with?
Our Matcha capsules are 100% compatible with original Nespresso® machines. Our Yerba Mate K-Cup capsules are compatible with standard Keurig® 1.0 and 2.0 machines. Please verify your machine model before brewing.
Can I brew the capsules twice?
For the optimal flavor profile, active ingredients (L-theanine and antioxidants), and creaminess, we recommend brewing each capsule only once. However, a second extraction will still yield a milder, lighter tea if you prefer a less intense flavor.
What is the ideal water temperature for brewing?
We highly recommend keeping your water temperature around 80°C/175°F. If the water is boiling (100°C/212°F), it can scorch the delicate tencha leaves of the matcha or the organic yerba mate, resulting in a bitter taste rather than the smooth, sweet notes of our premium blends.
Do I need a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) for Matcha?
If you are using our Nespresso-compatible capsules, the machine's pressure handles the frothing automatically. If you are using our loose ceremonial matcha powder, a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) is the best tool to dissolve the powder and create the signature smooth micro-foam. A battery-powered milk frother is a great modern alternative!
Are Joybarba capsules recyclable?
Yes, sustainability is key. Our aluminum capsules are 100% recyclable. You can simply rinse out the tea residue and place the aluminum shells in your standard recycling bin, or use our prepaid capsule recycling bags to send them back to us for composting and metal recovery.
